On the afternoon of September 16, accompanied by the vice director-general of International Cooperation Bureau of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Chang Qing, the president of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Professor Motoyuki Ono and the president of National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) Park Chan-mo, who were in Xi'an attending the 8th Meeting of the Heads of Research Councils of Asian Countries (A-HORCs), visited XJTU. Vice President LU Tianjian met with the visiting guests in the Science Hall.

During the meeting, the visiting guests watched a short slide presentation on the history, organization and research and educational programs of XJTU. Vice President LU elaborated on the slide presentation and discussed the place of foreign students at XJTU.

Later, the guests visited the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, the Laboratory of Intellectual Network and Network Security Education and the Key National Laboratory of Machinery Manufacturing on the Qujiang campus.
