Second annual meeting of Liverpool Confucius Institute governing board held at XJTU
On the morning of December 7, the second annual meeting of the governing board of the Liverpool Confucius Institute was held in room 107 of the Science Hall. Those in attendance included XJTU Vice President LU Tianjian, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool and the director of the Liverpool Confucius Institute, Professor Michael HOEY, and the deputy director of the Liverpool Confucius Institute, Ms. CHAO Qiuling.
Director HOEY reported on the Institute’s activities during 2010, and submitted to the board for consideration a working plan for the years 2011 and 2012. He said he hoped to build the Liverpool Confucius Institute into one of the best Confucius Institutes in the world. In addition to considering the report and proposals of the director, the board also decided to add a new member: Mr. Paul BRADSHAW, the head of the office of elementary education of the city of Liverpool.
The Liverpool Confucius Institute was jointly established by XJTU and the University of Liverpool in October, 2009.
