Oxford Medical student interns at Second Hospital
On February 9, the Second Hospital of XJTU welcomed a special guest. Mr. Timothy Robson, a student in clinical medicine at the School of Medicine of Oxford University, came to XJTU as an exchange student in the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Second Hospital. This marks the first time that the Second Hospital has welcomed a foreign student.
The exchange is supported by the Guanghua Foundation and is the product of a close, long-term cooperative relationship between the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Second Hospital (Hepatitis Treatment Center) and its director, Professor Dang Shuangsuo, on the one hand, and Oxford Professors David Alan Warrell, Chris Conlon and Dong Tao on the other. Pursuant to the cooperation agreement signed in June 2010, between the Second Hospital and the Oxford Medical School, there will be more medical students from Oxford coming to study at the Second Hospital and contributing to enlarging the space for international cooperation in both medical practice and medical teaching.
Mr. Timothy Robson is the president of the student union of the Oxford University School of Medicine. He will spend three weeks at the Second Hospital, working under the supervision of Director Dang Shuangsuo. During that time, Mr. Robson will take part in the medical, teaching and research activities of the clinical department, together with the students of XJTU.
