LMU Delegation Visits XJTU
On the afternoon of May 27th, a delegation from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit t München (LMU) paid a friendly visit to XJTU. Members of the delegation included the vice president for international affairs, Professor Hans van Ess, the Vice President for teaching Dr. Sigmund Stintzing, and Dean of the faculty, former Vice President of research, Professor Dr. Axel Schenzle.
XJTU Vice President Lu Tianjian warmly welcomed the leaders from LMU to XJTU. He gave them a brief introduction to the university, and its history, including its move to the west. He described the specialized experimental physics class at XJTU and hoped that some top students in the class could pursue their study at LMU. Professor Doctor van Ess introduced LMU, identified some of its strongest disciplines and described its cooperative relationships with a number of Chinese universities. After the meeting, the leaders from the School of Science and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as the members of the visiting delegation were divided into groups to discuss possible ways to promote cooperation between the two institutions.
