On December 8, Jin Jiongyuan (vice minister ranking), Dean of Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), led his delegation to visit Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). President Wang Shuguo had a cordial meeting with the delegation. During the meeting, both parties signed the memorandum of cooperation. Attendees also included Vice President Xi Guang, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, Liang Li, Dean of School of Life Science, Liu Jiankang and Professor Zhang Zhenxi.

During the meeting, on behalf of XJTU, President Wang extended a warm welcome to Dean Jin and his delegation, affirming the leading status of KETI in the local IT industry of South Korea and expressed the willingness to further enlarge and deepen the cooperation in the future. Jin Jiongyuan introduced the internationalization of KETI, expressing a sincere desire for cooperation with XJTU in carrying out contracts of scientific research and programs of innovative exploration. After that, both groups exchanged ideas on the current prospects for cooperation between China and South Korea and the cooperation between KETI and XJTU as well.

Following the meeting, experts from KETI's Medical IT Integration Research Center had a thorough discussion with Professor Zhang Zhenxi’s team from School of Life Science of XJTU about special items of biological integration technology.

As the second largest professional institution in South Korea, KETI is committed to technological innovation in the electronic and information industries, leading the development of industrial technologies. Graduating from University of Illinois, Dean Jin Jiongyuan once held a post in the Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, and was granted the "Diligence Award" (a South Korean presidential Award) and the "Red Diligence Award" (a South Korean president Award). For many years, he has devoted himself to fields such as industry and energy as well as to scientific innovation and has promoted the internationalization of scientific research fields.
