Students in XJTU triumphed in 2014 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling
Recently, according to the result of 2014 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling(CUMCM) issued in the official website of this competition(http://www.mcm.edu.cn/), four students from XJTU won the first-prize and 6 won the second-prize, which made XJTU the most awarded universities in Shaanxi province and one of the most awarded university in terms of national prize across the nation. Besides, 48 teams of XJTU won the first-prize and 29 teams won the second-prize in Shaanxi, which was the best achievement over the years.
In 2014, more than 70 thousand undergraduates in 25347 teams(22233 composed of undergraduates, 3114 composed of junior college students) from 1338 universities and colleges, including schools in 33 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions(including Hongkong and Macao), Singpore, and US, participated in this competition. After the grading process by judges in the competition area and the national committee, 293 were awarded the first prize and 1256 the second-prize for undergraduates, with national first-prize accounting for 1.3% and national second prize accounting for 5.6%.
