School of Chemical Engineering and Technology
The School of Chemical Engineering and Technology consists of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology and the Department of Process Equipment and Control Engineering. Its affiliate - the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology - consists of the Institute of Chemical Engineering, the Institute of Chemical Machinery, the Institute of Industrial Catalysis, the Institute of Polymer Chemistry, the Institute of Delivery Enhancement, and the Institute of Materials and Chemical Engineering. It offers a first-level doctoral discipline in chemical engineering and a second-level doctoral discipline in chemical machinery.
The school currently has 154 faculty members, including two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, five winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and 16 national youth talent scholars. It is home to national, provincial and ministerial-level scientific research bases, including the State Key Laboratory of Fluorine and Nitrogen Chemicals, a first-level discipline post-doctoral research station for chemical engineering and technology, Shaanxi province's key laboratory of energy and chemical process enhancement, and the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Chemical Engineering.
In recent years, the school has been serving the country, region and industry in many important ways, and has taken the lead in the establishment of the Chemical Engineering Sub-Alliance of the University Alliance of the Silk Road University. It is striving to become a world-class platform for chemical and equipment innovation talent training, technological innovation and achievement commercialization, as well as international cooperation and exchanges. In 2024, its chemical discipline ranked 11th in the world in the global ranking of academic subjects released by Shanghai Ranking.
