The School of Chemistry currently has two majors -- Chemistry and Applied Chemistry. The Applied Chemistry program has been approved as a national first-class major. The school is entitled to offer the doctoral degree and master's degree in the first-level discipline of chemistry. It has established the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Non-equilibrium Synthesis and Modulation of Condensed Matter, the Shaanxi Province Intelligence Introduction Demonstration Base, the Shaanxi Province Chemical Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and the Xi'an New Energy Material Chemistry Key Laboratory. 

In addition, it has a number of talents of different levels, including one winner of national-level funding, four winners supported by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, one highly cited researcher released by Clarivate Analytics, two highly cited scholars released by Elsevier, and two high-level talents of Shaanxi Province.

In recent years, the School has formed advantages in the following fields: synthesis and application of functional polymers/composites; organic synthesis methodology; organic optoelectronic materials and devices, new energy materials and devices; theoretical and computational chemistry; biological diagnosis and treatment and tissue engineering; and inorganic porous materials and metal-organic framework materials.
