Chungying College was founded in July 2008 with support from the Chung Ying Tang Foundation and named after Mr. Chung Ying Tang, a world-famous philanthropist and chairman of Tang's Industrial Group. Xiaochun Xu, the executive director of the foundation, serves as the college's dean.

The college is located on the Xingqing Campus and consists of four hollow square buildings. There are now more than 3,200 students enrolled in the college, with more than 10 majors in three colleges (departments) – Telecommunications, Electricity and Life.

The motto of the college is "serving society, dedicating love, being considerate, and passing down the spirit from generation to generation".

The college imparts values like patriotism, collective assistance, entrepreneurship and optimism onto its students. Since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 10,000 students who are described as "gentle and with a strong sense of responsibility".
