Supported by and named after Mr. Chung Ying Tang, a world famous philanthropist and chairman of Tang’s Industrial Group, Chungying College was founded in July 2008 with the support of the Chung Ying Tang Foundation. Xiaochun Xu, the executive director of the Foundation, serves as the college's dean.
The College is located on Xingqing Campus and consists of four building blocks with a hollow square layout. There are more than 2,700 students, covering more than 20 majors in 11 colleges (departments) including telecommunications, electrical, life science, management, power and energy, machinery, materials, aerospace, chemical engineering, human settlements, and food.
The motto of the college is "serving society, dedicating love, being considerate, and passing down the spirit from generation to generation".
Patriotism, collective mutual assistance, entrepreneurship and optimism are what the college always teaches its students. Since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 8,000 students who are described as "gentle and with a strong sense of responsibility".
