The first International Information Science Summit was held recently at Vienna University of Technology, Austria. The summit was jointly organized by International Society of Information Science (ISIS) and a range of international institutions. The theme of the summit is Information Society on the Crossroad: Responses and Responsibilities of Information Science. The summit comprises three concurrent meetings, namely, the Sixth Conference on the Foundations of Information Science (FIS 2015), the International Conference on Philosophy of Information (ICPI 2015) and the International Conference on Information &Communication Technology and Society (ICTS 2015).

On the enlarged meeting of ISIS executive committee, XJTU professor Wu Kun was unanimously voted the vice chairman, while professor Gordana Didig-crnkovic from Mlardalen University, Sweden was elected the chairman. The meeting reviewed the prior accomplishments of ISIS and produced the third administration comprising one chairman and twelve vice chairmen.
