Latest development in understanding DNA repair mechanism
Recently, XJTU researchers and Professor Zhang Pumin from Baylor College of Medicine, USA and other researchers collaborated to have made progress in understanding the DNA repair mechanism. XJTU research team was led by Professor Zhu Qing and XJTU Doctoral student Ma Chengxian co-authored this research.
This study proved that in the course of DNA damage repair, the deubiquitinating enzyme USP1 can modulate the K63-linked poly-ubiquitin chain modification of histone H2A / H2B. The result revealed a significant modulating function of APCCdh1on DNA damage repair and genome stability maintenance. It also clarified the selecting process of the two methods of DNA damage repair -- homologous recombination and non-homologousend-linking, and the functionof APCCdh1 in S/G2 cells, thus the study is of theoretical significance.
