XJTU holds the 9th Chinese Speech Contest for overseas students
On the afternoon of October 26, 2018, the 9th XJTU Chinese Speech Contest for Overseas Students was held in Room 101 of the XJTU Science Hall. Thirty-five overseas students from 24 countries shared their stories in China and Xi'an Jiaotong University. After three hours of competition, Wei Junyan (from Malaysia), a 4-member group with Yili and three other students (from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other countries) and Azat (from Kazakhstan) won first prize.
Studying abroad provides students an opportunity to explore another culture and a new perspective to view the world. XJTU's overseas students learned to speak Chinese and tell stories about China in the university. They shared their experience and expressed not only their gratitude to their teachers, to XJTU and to China, but also the wish to become ambassadors of cultural communication.
