On the afternoon of September 5, 2019, the Fifth International Autumn Symposium for Distinguished Young Scholars was held at the Western China Science &Technology Innovation Harbour. At XJTU's invitation, 136 young scholars from 19 countries and regions attended the symposium.

The International Symposium for Distinguished Young Scholars creates opportunities for young, outstanding global scholars to communicate and share information related to their professional fields. Initiated by XJTU in 2015, there are about 1,100 distinguished young scholars from about 30 countries and regions participated in the meeting since its inception. It established a platform for young scholars to carry out an in-depth exchange of ideas and to learn more about XJTU and Shaanxi province.
