XJTU medical researchers made academic progress in treating obesity
Recently, XJTU's medical researchers found and proved that mechanosensitive cationic channel Piezo1 mediates diet-induced adipogenesis, and that Piezo1-mediated adipocyte mechano-signaling is a mechanism to modulate obesity.
The results were published in Nature Communicationstitled Adipocyte Piezo1 mediates obesogenic adipogenesis through the FGF1/FGFR1 signaling pathway, with XJTU Professor Wang Shengpeng the first corresponding author and Professor Stefan Offermanns from the Max-Planck-Institute, Germany, the co-corresponding author.
