Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) signs a cooperation agreement with the Paris Institute of Technology (ParisTech) on Aug 30 via video link.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Paris Institute of Technology (ParisTech) online through video link on Aug 30.

XJTU President Wang Shuguo said in his speech that French scientists have made great contributions to the second and third industrial revolutions. 

"In the wave of the fourth industrial revolution, ParisTech, as the top university in the French engineering school alliance, is strengthening cooperation with Chinese universities, which will surely help us cope with the opportunities and challenges of globalization," said Wang.

He said that XJTU has gathered a large number of internationally renowned experts and scholars in the iHarbour, where ParisTech's scientific research personnel are welcome to transfer and transform scientific research results and achievements.

He hoped that the two universities will take this cooperation agreement signing ceremony as an opportunity to promote student exchanges and build a high-level scientific research cooperation platform.

The leader of the Paris Institute of Technology (ParisTech) meets XJTU representatives online.

ParisTech President Christian Lerminiaux said that ParisTech attaches great importance to cooperation with Chinese universities, especially XJTU, one of the best universities in China. He hoped to strengthen the bidirectional exchange of students and researchers, and make the cooperation between the two universities a model of higher education.

Wang and Lerminiaux respectively signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the two sides. ParisTech executive officers and relevant heads of the international offices of the two universities witnessed the signing ceremony.

XJTU Vice President Xi Guang also participated in the signing ceremony.

ParisTech Group is a famous French engineering school alliance. Members include Agro ParisTech, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Chimie ParisTech, École des Ponts ParisTech, ESPCI ParisTech, Institut d’Optique Graduate School, and MINES ParisTech.
