Camp prepares young talents for global governance

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) holds a talents camp on Dec 4.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) held a talents camp on Dec 4 to cultivate young professionals who are proficient in foreign languages and international rules to better serve China's national development strategy.

Zheng Qinghua, vice-president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), delivers a speech at the opening ceremony of the camp on Dec 4.

In his speech, Zheng Qinghua, vice-president of XJTU, encouraged the youth to seize the opportunities and follow the historical trend to welcome the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

As a guest, He Changchui, former deputy director-general of FAO, commended the university for complying with the general trend of global governance and training professionals in related fields. He called on talents to show their potential and improve innovation capability.

The camp helped students understand the international landscape and global governance and further clarify their professional goals. 

The camp had specially designed activities to simulate the working mode of international organizations participating in global practice, for instance, planning sustainable development goals for poverty alleviation and women's empowerment based on real cases in Bangladesh.

Themed Professional Development of Young Talents in Global Governance during the Post-Epidemic Era, the camp engaged in various activities including expert reports, career seminars, round-table discussions and mock interviews, providing students with an immersive experience working in international organizations. 

The camp has been organized for two years as a career development activity that focuses on international talents, relies on the university's academic advantages and gathers high-quality domestic teachers.
