A symposium led by Lu Jianjun, secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee, was held on June 14, focusing on the implementation of the essence of the China-Central Asia Summit and the promotion of industry-education integration.

The symposium served as a catalyst to empower the University Alliance of the Silk Road, fostering regional economic and social development while nurturing collaboration in education, technology, talent, and industry with five Central Asian nations and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Attendees included Zhang Yiguang, Party secretary and chairman of Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation; Wang Chao, deputy general manager of Shaanxi Rail Transit Group Corporation; Zhao Jing, vice-president of TBEA Co., Ltd., among other business leaders.

Lu underscored the imperative of leveraging the university's distinctive strengths, extending support services in law, finance, and technological innovation to propel industrial expansion along the Belt and Road. The university endeavors to cultivate exceptional talents in pivotal fields, expediting the development of a globally impactful innovation ecosystem. To this end, the university will concentrate on advancing application-oriented fundamental research, surmounting front-end scientific challenges, and providing the impetus necessary for the industry to achieve crucial breakthroughs. 

Lu also emphasized the significance of organizing corporate visits, intercollegiate exchanges, and a series of collaborative initiatives between academia and industry. Furthermore, the university stays committed to expanding overseas innovation platforms, forging connections with global innovation resources, and integrating seamlessly into the global innovation landscape. The ultimate aspiration is to metamorphose the iHarbour into a beacon of open and integrated innovation, driving transformative change.

Representatives from various units graced the symposium. They included the Central Research Institute of TBEA Co., Ltd., the Office of the CPC XJTU Committee and the President's Office, the Department of Social Sciences Research, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the School of International Education, the School of Humanities and Social Science, the School of Future Technology, the Joint School of Design and Innovation, and the National Technology Transfer Center.
