The Students Commendation Conference of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) for the 2022-2023 Academic Year took place on Dec 27 in XJTU, with the school's leadership attending.

In 2023, XJTU established a platform for the holistic development of students. Two student Party members were selected as representative recipients of the People's Daily National Scholarship. XJTU's students received the highest level of awards in various national and international competitions.

The conference presents awards to the representatives scholarship recipients.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 6,063 undergraduate students were awarded various scholarships, along with 1,015 graduate students. The conference presented awards to both undergraduate and graduate representative scholarship recipients, including the National Scholarship, National Inspirational Scholarship, and the university-level Outstanding Scholarship.

Representatives of international students are awarded during the conference.

In 2023, a total of 3,631 international students from 139 countries and regions chose to study at XJTU, coming to regard the university as their second home. During the conference, 147 international students were honored with titles such as "Outstanding International Student of XJTU."

Since the initiation of the "Industry-Education Integration and Collaborative Education" innovation project at XJTU, mentors from the university and enterprises have collaborated closely to cultivate numerous outstanding talents. In the current academic year, a total of 10 outstanding teams and 10 outstanding individuals have been honored with the title of "Stars of Industry-Education Integration" through their collaborative efforts in education.

While jointly establishing the XJTU-China Mobile Digital Government Joint Research Institute, China Mobile Communications Group Co and XJTU also set up the "China Mobile Scholarship," which was awarded to a total of 38 students. The conference presented a plaque of appreciation to China Mobile Communications Group Co.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 11 undergraduate students, 16 postgraduate students, and 16 doctoral students were awarded the title of "Outstanding Student Pacesetter", which is the highest honor for student commendation at XJTU. Wang Shuguo, president of XJTU, presented the awards to the recipients during the conference.

In addition, Lu Jianjun, secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee, presented an award to Ma Bubo, a doctoral student from the School of Physics at XJTU, recognizing his role as the pacesetter of the Stars of Self-Improvement in the year of 2022. Lu also issued a commemorative plaque to Ma's mentor, Professor Zhao Yongtao.

The Stars of Self-Improvement award recognizes university students who love their country, exhibit exemplary conduct, fear no difficulty, and continuously strive for self-improvement.
