In order to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of journalism and communications between XJTU and universities in Central Asia, as well as to promote international communications research focused on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a delegation from the Department of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the School of Journalism and New Media at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) from Dec 26 to 28.
On the morning of Dec 27, the International Cooperation Seminar on Journalism and Communications of the University Alliance of the Silk Road was held.
During the seminar, representatives from the two universities both expressed the same hope that both sides can enhance cooperation in scientific research, academic publishing, and work related to international students.
What's more, two professors from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University delivered presentations titled "History of News Communication in Kazakhstan" and "Cross-Cultural Exchange". The two reports traced the history of news communications in Kazakhstan and focused on highlighting the historical cross-cultural interactions between Kazakhstan and China, respectively. One of the professors emphasized that the BRI serves as an excellent cross-cultural exchange project.
Additionally, the delegation visited the XJTU Press to discuss cooperation and also visited the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbour.
The visit by the delegation has laid a solid foundation for in-depth communication and collaboration between XJTU and countries involved in the BRI.
In the future, the School of Journalism and New Media will continue to foster international exchanges and cooperation, contributing to the advancement of China-Central Asia higher education collaboration.
