A delegation from Samarkand State University, led by Khushvaktov Hakim, vice-rector for scientific works and innovations of Samarkand State University, visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) on Jan 17. Xi Guang, vice-president of XJTU, met with the delegation.

Xi Guang welcomed the delegation and said that the China Center, jointly established by the two universities in December 2023, has been successfully inaugurated.

He also said that the delegation's visit is expected to further advance collaboration in areas such as think tank projects, research exchanges, Chinese language education, and international laboratories.

Khushvaktov Hakim expressed gratitude for the warm reception from XJTU and provided an overview of Samarkand State University, including the recent developments in Chinese language learning at their institution.

He emphasized that the establishment of the China Center creates promising prospects for collaboration between the two universities, and conveyed the same hope that building on the foundation of the China Center, even closer cooperation between the two institutions will be achieved in areas such as talent cultivation, international laboratories, and student and faculty exchanges.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the Jiaotong University Westward Relocation Museum.
