The Chinese-Uzbek Forum of One Hundred Universities kicked off on Jan 22 in Beijing. Xi Guang, vice-president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), attended the forum and delivered a speech at the parallel forum on the humanities.

At the signing ceremony, which took place during the forum, XJTU signed cooperation agreements with Tashkent University of Information Technologies and Tashkent State Technical University.

According to the agreements, XJTU will collaborate with Tashkent University of Information Technologies to establish the "XJTU Innovation Center in Uzbekistan," gather expertise in the IT field, and expand cooperation in technology transfer as well as academic and non-academic education and training.

XJTU will deepen collaboration with Tashkent State Technical University in the energy sector, particularly in areas such as joint graduate training, exchange of research personnel, and mutual visits.

During the meeting, Xi Guang also held discussions with the rector of Andijan State Pedagogical Institute on collaborative initiatives in student and teacher exchanges and Chinese language teaching under the framework of the University Alliance of the Silk Road. He also signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation.

At the parallel forum on the humanities, he highlighted the progress and development plans of the collaborative construction of the China Center between XJTU and Samarkand State University.

The forum, titled" Mutual enrichment, mutually beneficial cooperation, joint building of the Chinese-Uzbek educational community", was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of China and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan. It featured four parallel forums.
