Professor Huang Yuan.

Huang Yuan, a professor from the School of Pharmacy at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), recently won the 2024 Thieme Chemistry Journals Award.

Established in 1999, the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award is presented annually. With the aim to encourage young scientists, it is granted to prospective chemists who have been recognized as high-potential researchers in the field of synthetics organic chemistry by the editorial board of Synthesis, Synlett and Synfacts. In the 2024 edition, a total of 106 researchers were awarded globally.

Prof Huang, as a young elite talent at XJTU, is an emerging investigator for Chemical Catalysis – a journal that publishes innovative and insightful research on fundamental and applied catalysis.

He obtained his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore in 2016 and conducted his postdoctoral research at Indiana University in the United States from 2016 to 2019. He joined XJTU in January 2020. Currently, he leads a team in the research of asymmetric synthesis, metal-organic chemistry, and innovative drug discovery with new frameworks.

In recent years, he has published 17 papers, and one cover article, as either the first or corresponding author in leading international journals. One of his papers has been cited over 200 times.
