Achievements of XJTU professor and alumnus receive national recognition
The achievements of Professor Tian Qi, honorary guest professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), and Xu Yuan, alumnus of the class of 2009, were included in the 2023 list of Top 10 Scientific Advances in China, which was recently released by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
These advancements cover fields such as life sciences and medicine, artificial intelligence, quantum, astronomy, chemical energy, and others.
Tian Qi served as an honorary guest professor at XJTU from 2012 to 2015 and is currently the chief scientist in the field of artificial intelligence at Huawei Cloud Computing Technology Co.
Xu Yuan obtained a bachelor's degree at XJTU in 2013. He is now a researcher at the Shenzhen International Quantum Academy and a visiting scholar at the Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology.
The Top 10 Scientific Advances in China list aims to promote significant advancements in basic research in China. It also aims to inspire the scientific enthusiasm of researchers and encourage public understanding and support for basic research.
Since its launch in 2005, about 18 lists have been released. These selections document important achievements in China's basic scientific sector, and have garnered widespread attention from various sectors of society.
