Delegation from Yamanashi Gakuin University visits XJTU
A delegation from Yamanashi Gakuin University, led by Aoyama Takako – president of the university, visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and met with Wang Shuguo, president of XJTU, on March 7.

Wang warmly welcomed Aoyama Takako and her delegation and said that XJTU has established eight major platforms, 29 research institutes, and over 400 scientific research bases and high-end think tanks in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, and humanities. He also said that the university collaborates with over 100 world-renowned enterprises in industry-academia-research practices, further promoting interdisciplinary integration and driving technological innovation.
Additionally, in recent years, XJTU founded the University Alliance of the Silk Road, with more than 170 universities from over 40 countries and regions having joined to date.
He said that the two universities have a solid foundation for cooperation and hoped to deepen joint training programs, providing a platform for exchange between young students and faculty from both countries, facilitating communication between China and Japan and promoting world peace and prosperity.
Aoyama Takako said she was honored to visit XJTU and gained a deeper understanding of the school's history and development plans, expressing optimism for its future development.
In 2019, through the joint efforts of both parties, XJTU and Yamanashi Gakuin University established the Confucius Institute at Yamanashi Gakuin University and collaborated to establish a joint training dual-degree program.
She also expressed hope that both sides can continue to deepen cooperation in discipline development, talent cultivation, international exchanges, and other areas, working together toward mutual development and contributing to the Sino-Japanese friendship.
The two parties also had discussions with students from the joint training program.
