Zhang Haonan, an athlete from Xi'an Jiaotong University, won the championship title in the men's triple jump event of the 2024 National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix (3rd Station) in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, on March 12-13.

This marked the first time that a student athlete from XJTU has won the championship in a national-level professional track and field competition.

The competition features a total of 12 men's and 13 women's events, and had 1,100 competing athletes, including many Olympic-level athletes.

Previously, Zhang won the silver medal in the triple jump event at the first National Student (Youth) Games. He also finished fifth at the Xi'an station of the National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix, which was the 2nd station. This time, he clinched first place, marking his first entry into the final of the National Indoor Track and Field Championships.
