Delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan visit procuratorial research base
Delegations from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan visit the Belt and Road Procuratorial Research Base of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
A delegation including Tuimebayev Zhanseit, rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Aidaraliev Asylbek Akmatbekovich, rector of International University of Kyrgyzstan, visited the Belt and Road Procuratorial Research Base of the Supreme People's Procuratorate in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on March 17.
The research base, jointly built by the People's Procuratorate of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), is the first overseas law research base approved by the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
Zhang Kezhen, deputy prosecutor general of the People's Procuratorate of Shaanxi Province, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation. He briefly introduced the research base's operations last year and said he hoped to further expand cooperation between the procuratorates of Shaanxi and Xi'an and higher education institutions in countries involved in the Belt and Road, especially in Central Asian countries.
He emphasized the need to establish a normalized working mechanism and ensure smooth channels for diversified exchanges.
Zhanseit said that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has established close cooperation with 45 Chinese universities, and the university currently hosts over 4,000 international students, including 960 from China.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University added that he is eager to expand collaboration with the base to jointly cultivate more foreign legal professionals proficient in the languages of various Central Asian countries.
Akmatbekovich stated that International University of Kyrgyzstan offers a major in law and warmly welcomes Chinese students to come to the university for further studies. In the future, International University of Kyrgyzstan will strengthen multi-channel cooperation with the research base to jointly cultivate high-quality legal professionals.
As the joint director of the research base, Shan Wenhua, assistant to the president of XJTU and dean of XJTU School of Law, conveyed his anticipation for closer ties between the base and more top universities in Central Asian countries and practical cooperation in areas such as training foreign legal professionals, as well as research on prosecution theory and practice.
