XJTU and industry giants forge ahead with education collaboration
The Ministry of Education announced the list of approved projects for collaborative talent cultivation between industry and academia for the year 2024 on April 17. Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was granted approval for 108 projects. The projects announced this time were those whose agreements were confirmed between September and November 2023.
These approved projects at XJTU have received direct funding and software and hardware support totaling over 10 million yuan ($1.38 million) from more than 70 renowned domestic and international enterprises, including Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, Huawei, Tencent, Xiaomi, Alibaba Cloud, and Baidu Online.
This university-enterprise collaboration aims to reform teaching content and curriculum systems, improve entrepreneurship education, enhance faculty training, improve practical conditions and facilities, and advance the development of new engineering disciplines.
So far, XJTU has accumulated approvals for 648 collaborative talent cultivation projects between industry and academia from the Ministry of Education. The number of approved projects ranks among the highest in the nation. In November 2023, XJTU was awarded the "Outstanding Organization Award" for project implementation over the past decade, which is an honor bestowed to only 10 universities nationwide. These efforts have facilitated the training of a large number of high-quality innovative talents and technical professionals.
