XJTU organizes the 2024 'International XJTUers Explore China' practical activities

This year, the School of International Education at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) organized for 176 international students from over 30 countries to participate in the "Explore China" series of practical activities.

The students visited various locations, including Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, Shidian in Southwest China's Yunnan province, Sheyang in East China's Jiangsu province, Changsha, capital of South-central China's Hunan province, Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, and Yan'an and Pingli in Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Experience China's modernization through company visits.

XJTU international students tour various enterprises in Sheyang and Hangzhou.

In Sheyang and Hangzhou, the students toured several enterprises, exploring production facilities and workshops to learn about advanced equipment and model production processes. They also visited agricultural industrial parks to gain insights into modern food production and local agricultural products. Additionally, they visited media headquarters to understand China's technological innovation landscape.

Visit historical sites to understand the spirit of perseverance.

In Changsha, the international students visited the former site of the the Communist Party of China (CPC) Hunan District Committee and the CPC historical exhibits, where they learned about the revolutionary history and the sacrifices made by fallen heroes. In Yan'an, they explored revolutionary sites such as Yangjialing and Zaoyuan and engaged in friendly exchanges with local elementary school students.

XJTU international students are taught in remote areas in Shidian and Pingli.

In Shidian and Pingli, dozens of international students visited local primary and secondary schools, where they held classes and introduced the younger students to the languages, cultures, and traditions of their home countries.

This series of activities is a key part of educating international students about China and provides a comprehensive showcase of Chinese culture and the real China. XJTU's School of International Education will continue organizing such activities, enabling more international students to explore China, share China's stories, and amplify its voice globally.
