XJTU president leads delegation to Germany and France
Zhang Liqun, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), led a delegation to Germany and France from Sept 9 to 13 to foster pragmatic cooperation in higher education.
The delegation visited Leibniz University Hannover in Germany and the Permanent Delegation of China to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Zhang leads delegation visiting the XJTU Alumni Association in France.
Zhang presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Sino-French Engineering Practice Center and the Sino-French Engineer Education Cooperation Forum. He also participated in the XJTU Alumni Association in France and was invited to the 15th Fall Rubber Colloquium in Germany, where he delivered a report.
At Leibniz University Hannover, President Volker Epping warmly welcomed the XJTU delegation. Both sides introduced their respective academic strengths and discussed pathways for student exchange, ultimately renewing the memorandum of understanding for academic exchange and collaboration between the two universities.
At the inauguration ceremony of the Sino-French Engineer Practice Center in Paris, Zhang presented plaques to the French partner universities. Representatives from the participating institutions shared insights into promoting international cooperation in engineering education and exploring new models and pathways for Sino-French educational collaboration.

The delegation also visited the Permanent Delegation of China to UNESCO, discussing China's assistance to Africa, recruiting students from Europe and the US, cultivating international talent, and cooperating with UNESCO.
