Lu Jianjun meets with Khushvakhtzoda Kobiljon Khushvakht, president of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

On Nov 4, Lu Jianjun, secretary of the CPC Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Committee, met with Khushvakhtzoda Kobiljon Khushvakht, president of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NAST).

Lu welcomed Khushvakhtzoda and his delegation. He highlighted that XJTU’s National Technology Transfer Center recently reached a cooperation consensus with Tajikistan, receiving strong support from President Emomali Rahmon.

He emphasized the NAST as Tajikistan's highest scientific institution and the potential for collaboration with XJTU. Lu proposed focusing on platforms, teams, and research topics, particularly in renewable energy, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.

He advocated a "dual enclaves" model to establish joint research teams, deepen industry-education integration, and transform scientific achievements into practical applications. He also emphasized the importance of faculty and student exchanges to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities and train talent aligned with modern industrial demands.

Khushvakhtzoda introduced the NAST, noting numerous success stories in the steady development of China-Tajikistan relations and the active participation of Chinese enterprises in Tajikistan's development.

He also hoped to strengthen ties with XJTU, focusing on talent cultivation and technological innovation. To advance industrial upgrades in Tajikistan, he proposed joint efforts in areas such as new energy vehicles, IT hard technology, and mineral resource testing.

Finally, he conveyed President Rahmon's cordial invitation and explored the feasibility of establishing an XJTU branch campus in Tajikistan to support higher education development, reaching an initial consensus.
