XJTU earns top A+ rating in intl student education quality certification
XJTU is given an A+, the highest possible rating, in the higher education quality certification for international students.
The China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) announced the results of the higher education quality certification for international students in the second half of 2024. Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) passed the certification (re-certification) with the highest possible rating, an A+, which is valid for eight years. So far, only three universities in China have received A+ certification.

XJTU began accepting international students in 1955, when it enrolled over a dozen Vietnamese students. In 1989, it became one of the first universities authorized to enroll Chinese Government Scholarship students. In 1995, the university (formerly Xi'an Medical University) pioneered the first English-taught medical education program for international students in China.
XJTU is now actively promoting its "Study at XJTU" brand globally. It has established a network of 151 high-quality master and PhD recommendation universities across 38 countries and regions, along with 85 high-quality international student recruitment bases in 25 countries and regions.
In recent years, XJTU's international student population has grown steadily. In 2024, a total of 3,929 international students from 132 countries and regions were studying at the university in 11 disciplines, including science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, arts, education, and interdisciplinary studies.
All schools at XJTU are open to international students, offering diverse study opportunities. The university provides seven independent Chinese-taught undergraduate programs, 39 Chinese-taught undergraduate exchange programs, 50 Chinese-taught postgraduate programs, seven English-taught undergraduate programs, and 171 English-taught postgraduate programs.
Over the past 70 years, XJTU has trained more than 13,000 international talents, many of whom have taken on key roles in global politics, economics, culture, education, and research. They continue to foster bilateral and multilateral exchanges and cooperation, having a significant social impact.
