On March 16, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) participated in the 16th China Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Innovation Conference in Beijing, receiving multiple national awards for its contributions to collaborative innovation.

Lu Jianjun, secretary of the CPC XJTU committee, was invited to attend and was named one of 2024 "Top 10 Innovation Leaders". Two faculty teams, led by Professor Guo Liejin – an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences – and Professor Rong Mingzhe, were recognized among the Top 100 Innovation Teams in China. XJTU-led projects also won two first prizes, one second prize, and one third prize for innovation achievements.

As a leader in industry-academia integration, XJTU has pioneered a new enterprise-driven collaboration model, moving beyond traditional project-based partnerships. The university has signed joint research agreements with 227 leading companies, including 53 Fortune Global 500 companies, and established 85 deep-collaboration innovation consortia.

With nearly 1,000 industry mentors and over 2,000 engineering master's and PhD students trained, XJTU has built a strong foundation for impactful, application-driven research. It has also facilitated the transformation of over 1,400 research outcomes, introduced more than 200 seed and angel funds, and supported the establishment of 214 startups.
