XJTU attends China-Croatia intergovernmental technology exchange
Representatives from XJTU visit the University of Zagreb to enhance international partnership.
Yin Hejun, Minister of Science and Technology of China, led a delegation to visit Croatia from May 21 to 23, at the invitation of Radovan Fuchs, Minister of Science, Education, and Youth of Croatia.
Bie Zhaohong, executive vice-president of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), accompanied the delegation and participated in the 11th Meeting of the China-Croatia Intergovernmental Science and Technology (S&T) Cooperation Committee and a case study forum for China-Croatia S&T Cooperation Projects. He also visited the University of Zagreb and hosted a full-English talent recruitment event.
Yin and Fuchs co-chaired the 11th Meeting of the China-Croatia Intergovernmental S&T Cooperation Committee. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in S&T personnel exchanges and joint R&D projects to enhance the role of S&T collaboration in bilateral relations.
The delegation visited the University of Zagreb on May 22. Vice-President Jurica Pavičić extended a warm welcome to the XJTU representatives, elaborated on the university's century-long history and innovative development vision, and expressed expectations for deepening academic collaboration.
Bie highlighted XJTU's industry-education integration and international cooperation model based on iHarbor, noting the university's effective practices in building an educational community for the Belt and Road Initiative through the initiation of the Silk Road University Alliance.
Both parties engaged in constructive discussions on expanding summer academic workshops, establishing a two-way student mobility mechanism, and deepening research collaboration under existing disciplinary cooperation frameworks.
On May 23, the delegation hosted XJTU's first overseas full-English recruitment promotion event. The presentation covered XJTU's history, leading disciplines, and English-taught program system, with detailed introductions to fields of interest, such as interdisciplinary medical engineering studies.
