A 13-member delegation of faculty and students from the University of Colorado Boulder in the United States visited Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) for an exchange program from May 13 to June 1. Through diverse activities, including Chinese language learning, academic seminars, cultural explorations, and technology experiences, the program built a bridge for in-depth exchanges between Chinese and American youth.
During the visit, the delegation traveled to the Crested Ibis National Nature Reserve in Hanzhong city, where they observed the ecological habits of breeding ibises at the Huayang Breeding Base.
The delegation was also immersed in traditional Chinese culture by participating in calligraphy, ink painting, pictographic character analysis, seal carving, and making five-colored ropes for the Dragon Boat Festival.
A "Sino-American Student Roundtable Forum" was held at XJTU's Chongshi College, where students shared their academic lives, cultural perceptions, and personal aspirations. The delegation also visited XJTU's affiliated kindergarten, where they watched children's theater performances, idiom-story skits, and participated in basketball activities, experiencing the cultural integration of China's early education.
The International Education Institute of XJTU conducted an admission presentation for the delegation, highlighting XJTU's master's and doctoral programs, advanced scholar programs, and short-term exchange opportunities, inviting University of Colorado students to join XJTU's global academic community.
The University of Colorado Boulder and XJTU share a long-standing partnership, with student exchange programs held in 2009, 2010, 2016, and 2019 – this being the fifth delegation visit. Their collaboration has established a regular platform for Sino-American academic and cultural exchanges, showcasing the innovative vitality of traditional Chinese culture in the modern era.
