On June 18, the China Association of Employment for College Graduates announced the first batch of pilot institutions for the "Global Employability Enhancement Program for College Students in the New Era".

After undergoing independent application, qualification review, expert evaluation, online public consultation, and association approval, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was selected as one of the first pilot institutions for this program.

To meet evolving demands for internationally competitive talent, XJTU has advanced systematic development across four dimensions: curriculum design, faculty development, practical training, and platform building.

Curriculum Design:‌ The university's Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Service Center offers elective courses titled "Global Perspectives and Capacity Enhancement" and "International Competence Cultivation", providing over 30 online courses on global governance each semester. These courses have attracted more than 1,500 students to date.

Faculty Development:‌ The university recruits current and retired officials from international organizations, alongside subject matter experts, as part-time professors and external mentors. This initiative has established an international organization internship and employment mentorship database. The university also organizes specialized training sessions for career service staff and counselors campus-wide to enhance their professional guidance capabilities.

Practical Training:‌ XJTU regularly hosts policy lectures, online courses on global governance, talent bootcamps on global governance, Model International Courts, Model United Nations conferences, and other student activities offering hands-on experiences.

Platform Building:‌ Since 2017, the university has hosted major events such as the "China Scholarship Council (CSC)-Sponsored International Organization Internship Campus Roadshow" and co-hosted the "4th UN Agency Recruitment Consultation" with CSC.

Moving forward, XJTU will improve its international talent cultivation system, enhance students' global employability, nurture a cohort of high-caliber professionals with international vision, cross-cultural communication skills, and global competitiveness, and develop a replicable model for international employability training.
