XJTU shines at China University Wushu Championships

XJTU's team claims several medals at the competition.

The China University Wushu Championships (groups A and B) took place from July 27 to 31 in Wuqing district, Tianjin, attracting over 2,000 athletes and coaches from 241 universities.

As the premier national collegiate Wushu competition, it featured both traditional and contemporary disciplines, including bare-handed forms, weapon routines, and innovative fitness exercises.

After five days of intense competition, Xi'an Jiaotong University's (XJTU) team claimed ‌four gold, four silver, and four bronze medals‌, along with one fourth-place, two fifth-place, one seventh-place, and one eighth-place.

Individual Highlights:

Li Tianchang‌ (women's group A): Gold in bare-handed duel and fourth in taiji broadsword.

Zeng Ruixuan‌ (women's group A): Gold in bare-handed duel, bronze in 24 solar terms form (white dew), and seventh in snake fist meridian form of active health exercise.

Liu Zehao‌ (men's group A, international student): Gold in 32-form taiji sword, gold in active health exercise, and bronze in other traditional fist forms.

Li Junliang‌ (men's group A): Gold in Wu-style taijiquan and fifth in Sun-style taijiquan.

Zhu Jie‌ (men's group A): Silver in traditional Yang-style taijiquan, silver in 42-form taijiquan, and bronze in 42-form taiji sword.

Wang Xiangyuan‌ (men's group A): Silver in taiji broadsword, bronze in traditional Chen-style taijiquan, fifth in bare-handed duel, and eighth in traditional taiji sword.

Feng Yijie‌ (men's group A): Silver in taiji broadsword and fifth in bare-handed duel.

Team Honors:

Fifth in the group taijiquan, fifth in the men's team total score, Coach ‌Song Shaopeng‌ was awarded "Outstanding Coach", and Li Tianchang‌ and ‌Zeng Ruixuan‌ were awarded as "Outstanding Athletes".
