The XJTU team achieves its best-ever performance in the Huawei ICT Competition's teaching track.
The China Final of the 10th Huawei ICT Competition concluded at Huazhong University of Science and Technology on April 19. After intense competition, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) faculty and students secured two first prizes and one second prize in the teaching track, the university's best-ever performance that saw it tie for first place nationwide in total awards won in that category. Other awards included second prize in the Ascend AI practice track, third prize and the most popular award in the challenge track, and third prize in the computing track.
In 2021, the Huawei ICT Competition was included in the "National University Subject Competition Ranking" by the China Association of Higher Education. Internationally, it is recognized as a flagship partner project of the UNESCO Global Skills Academy.
The competition aims to build an international platform for exchange among university students, enhance students' ICT knowledge and hands-on skills, and cultivate innovation and creativity through the use of new technologies and platforms.
The teaching track is the only category in the competition specifically for university faculty. It evaluates teachers' ability to develop educational resources using Huawei technologies and products, encourages interdisciplinary innovation, and promotes the integration of cutting-edge industry technology into the classroom. In December 2025, this track was included for the first time in the "2025 National University Teacher Teaching Competition Research Ranking".
In September 2020, XJTU signed an agreement with Huawei to establish China's first Ministry of Education-Huawei "Intelligent Base" Industry-Education Integration Collaborative Education Base ("Intelligent Base" 1.0). This initiative focuses on building an industry and talent ecosystem centered on core information technologies.
In December 2025, the two parties signed the "Intelligent Base 2.0" cooperation agreement. Within the framework of integrated development in education, science, and talent, XJTU continues to deepen teaching reforms and further explore systematic pathways to cultivate top-tier innovative talent in information technology.
